Winter Chefs
Grades 1-5
This winter, we are traveling the globe cooking up fabulous flavors and learning cooking techniques and ingredients from Asia, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico and Spain! We’ll be expanding our world and our palates as we try recipes unique to these countries. While exploring cultural and food related themes, our program includes a foundation of learning that enhances what kids learn in their regular classrooms; organization skills, safety, nutrition, working as a team, cooperation, taking turns. Basic reading and math skills are used daily, as students follow recipes, learn to measure, and double or half the amounts. Glebe Chefs will learn how much fun it is to cook, as well these special joys of cooking.
We hope all the Glebe Chefs and their families enjoy the recipes we have included in our International Taste Sensation session! All students will receive a cookbook containing the recipes they have made on the final day of the session—hopefully they will share their new skills, experiences and tastes with everyone at home!
Note: All recipes are nut free.
