TinyChefs
Grades K-2
This spring, we are introducing students to a wide array of exciting menu options for the three meal squares. Reach way beyond basics like scrambled eggs and PB&J and think cheddar-chive scones, California BLTs, and stuffed shells with arugula-strawberry salad! Students will learn how easy and satisfying it is to create healthy, delicious meals that are balanced and full of flavor. While exploring cultural and food related themes, our program includes a foundation of learning that enhances what kids learn in their regular classrooms; organization skills, safety, nutrition, working as a team, cooperation, taking turns. Basic reading and math skills are used daily, as students follow recipes, learn to measure, and double or half the amounts. We hope all the Tiny Chefs and their families enjoy the recipes we have included in our Morning, Noon, and Night-Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner session! All students will receive a cookbook containing the recipes they have made on the final day of the session. Hopefully they will share their new skills, experiences and tastes with everyone at home.
Note: All recipes are nut free.
