Knitting

Grades 3-5

Knitting is the perfect way to unwind after school!  New students will learn the basic stitches in knitting (there are only 2!) and how to begin and end a project. Everyone will finish at least one simple project.  That means you will take home your handmade pot holder, scarf or even an iPad or iPod case.  More experienced knitters will receive assistance with their individual projects.  Basic materials provided but feel free to bring your own supplies too!

Fee: $100

Group Piano

Grades PreK-5

This group piano class studies hands-on piano and music theory. Your child will work closely with the teacher to follow a carefully planned sequence that guarantees fun and success in a playful group atmosphere. The instructor will teach how to count rhythm, identify notes, and play common melodies on the white and black keys of the piano. Students who have taken this class previously will advance to Book 2 and begin to learn how to read notes on the staff in C and Middle C position with more advanced songs to play. Offered by Piano Keys 4 Kids (PK4K).

Fee
:  $150 - Tuition includes a workbook. Roll-up keyboards are provided for class instruction, but they can also be purchased for an additional $30 for the student to take home.

Woodworking

Grades K-5

Kids will learn to safely use a hammer and nails to construct their own toys, games and other creations. A new project will be done at each class (the projects will be new from the previous session). The finished works are substantial, usable, and able to be finished during class time. Both boys and girls have enjoyed this class. Examples of projects: a bird house, car/truck, wooden ball maze game, picture frame, coat rack, etc.

Minecraft Modding

Grades 4-5

In this class, students will learn how to create and texture their own items and codes using the popular game Minecraft, while at the same time learning the basics of Java! Learn how to create and implement your own custom blocks, weapons, food, recipes, and more! Determine how each of your own items appear and behave. Students will learn from premade templates, and how to create their own Java packages and classes. By the end of the class, students will have their own fully functional Minecraft mod package that they can use and modify at home! Do you spend hours at a time playing Minecraft? Learn how to improve your gameplay experience, and create your own custom mods today!
