Fencing
Grades: 3-5
Have fun learning the art of Olympic fencing! All students will learn safety rules, the basic stance, lunge, parries, and attacks, as well as fencing strategies. Students can build on their experience from prior sessions. All students will use regular epees. Equipment will be provided by the instructor for use during class. Students should wear long pants suitable for exercise and athletic shoes.
Fee: $122, includes $10 fee for USFA membership, or $112 if you are already a USFA member

Woodworking
Grades: K-5
Kids will learn to safely use a hammer and nails to construct their own toys, games and other creations. A new project will be done at each class and the projects will be different from the previous session. The finished works are substantial, usable and able to be finished during class time. Both boys and girls have enjoyed this class. Past sessions projects have included: a tank, car shooter, small pool game, wooden box with hinged lid, picture frame and soft ball catapult.
Fee: $150

Fairfax Collegiate Jr. Robotics
Grades: K-2
WeDo introduces young students to simple robotics
systems. Students will build Lego models with functional motors and
sensors, and learn how to control them with basic programming skills.
Through a variety of tasks and activities, students get a chance to learn and
gain confidence with simple robotics skills before moving on to more advanced
challenges.

Fairfax Collegiate Photography
Grades: 3-5
Students learn digital SLR photography starting with basic
camera operation. Subjects include plants and flowers, food, portraits,
products, action shots, and architecture. Exercises emphasize exposure,
composition, color, and lighting. Students achieve artistic effects by
manually controlling the components of exposure: aperture, shutter speed, and
ISO. DSLR cameras are provided for student use during class.
