Extreme Exercise
Grades 2-5
Are you looking for fun ways to stay healthy and be active??? Well, come “kick” it into high gear with Mrs. Cunningham and Mr. McNeil as we take you on exercise adventure of a lifetime! We’ll help you learn what not to eat and introduce some great ways to get your body ready to play our EXTREME games. If obstacle courses, relay races, and kickball interest you, then this is the class for you!

Cheerleading
Grades PreK-5
Led by Glebe teacher Ms. Halligan, all grades are invited to Cheer for Glebe (boys too!) Students will learn several cheers and chants to incorporate into a dance routine. Students will learn cheer safety and the basics of stunting. At the end of the session, they will perform as a team to showcase their talent. They will also participate in school spirit-building activities. New uniforms are $50 or uniform rental is available for $10.

Chess Club
Grades 1-5
Playing chess brings out abilities that often have not been reached by traditional educational means. Chess promotes logical thinking, instills a sense of self-confidence, and improves communication and pattern recognition skills. And it’s fun! Lessons will be conducted using a chess demonstration board, chess boards and pieces for the students to practice with, and worksheets to reinforce the concepts learned. Collaborative discussions and analysis will be encouraged to develop problem solving, decision-making, and team building skills. American Girl Book Club

Led by Glebe’s own Cassidy Burton! Come explore American history through the eyes of an American girl! We will read one book in the popular “American Girl” series together. Each week we’ll enjoy a snack and a special activity to go with the story. All reading levels are welcome. Cost includes your own copy of the book. No dolls, please. We want to focus on the literature, not the merchandise. And there will be no homework!

Lego Magic
Grades 1-3
Interactive building and programming models is the newest educational frontier for kids that love building with Legos. Students build a series of models such as an alligator, lion, helicopter and more. Builders work together to build and program their model to move and make sounds. The programming is done on a laptop computer. These beginning engineering classes offer students an introduction to programming, technology, Math, Science and are designed to enhance STEM education as well as creativity when students design and build their own Lego projects.

Mad Science: Secret Agent Lab
Grades K-3
Analyze clues and get hot on the trail of a culprit with the Crime Lab program. Connect the dots using science to help solve a crime. Figure out the science of forensics in this hands-on look at crime scenes, evidence collection and puzzle making. Want to know who did it? Test your skills and learn how the pros do it through careful observation! Students will make their own Secret Code Breaker. Learn what it takes to be successful in the spy world. Step into the shoes of a detective - collect and analyze evidence.
