Fairfax Collegiate Scratch
Grades: 3-5
Scratch (http://scratch.mit.edu)
is a graphical programming language designed at the MIT Media Lab to introduce
mathematical and computational ideas to elementary students in a fun and
engaging manner. Students create Scratch scripts by snapping together graphical
blocks to control the actions and interactions among different media such as
graphics, photos, and sound. Students learn Scratch through direct instruction,
interactive tutorials, sample projects, the command reference guide, and
creation of individual projects.
Fee: $190

Cheerleading
Grades: PreK-5
Led by Ms. Halligan, all grades are invited to Cheer for Glebe (boys too!). Students will learn several cheers and chants to incorporate into a routine. Students will learn cheer safety and the basics of stunting. At the end of the session, they will perform as a team to showcase their talent. They will also participate in school spirit-building activities.
Fee: $90
Note: New uniforms are $50 or uniform rental is available on a first come first serve basis for $15.
