Marine Engineering Jr.

Grades K-2

Have you ever built your own canoe or been scuba diving?  Marine Engineering explores the principles of boat design, buoyancy and energy generated from flowing water through creative hands-on activities.  The fun begins as you construct canoes, race paddleboats and even become a scuba diver and test your underwater abilities!

Hip Hop with Mr. Gray

Grades 3-5

Students will have an opportunity to learn basic hip-hop skills and choreographed dances with Mr. Gray. We will be combining different dance techniques and putting together energetic routines step-by-step.  We will also have the opportunity to perform some of our routines at Dance Party Fridays! This is the perfect class for kids who love to dance.

Fee: $100

Book Club with Ms. Arce

Grades 3-5

Books and Popcorn with Ms. Arce. Reading is FUNdemental! If you enjoy reading, this is the club for you! Join Ms. Arce in reading chapter books this Winter. We will read a book and come together each week to discuss it over popcorn and create fun book related activities. All books and materials will be provided.

Cake Decorating with Ms. Bane

Grades 1-5

Have you ever wondered how someone makes princess castle cakes or Angry Birds cookies? If so, this class is just for you!  Cake Decorating is a new class being offered to Glebe students. In this class you will not only learn how to bake all sorts of yummy treats, but how to decorate them as well. Students will begin their culinary journey by learning how to use the piping tools on wax paper and eventually build up to decorating cookies and finishing with a fully decorated cake which they can take home and enjoy with their families. So, if you’re interested in making those princess castle cakes or Angry Birds cookies, sign up for Cake Decorating!

South African Dancing and Drums

Grades K-5

South African dance and drumming will come alive at Glebe School! In this class students will focus on counting, dance patterns and team work. Lesole’s Dance Project (LDP) highlights the unique qualities of contemporary modern and Afro-Fusion dance and provides educational programs on the movement and history of popular traditional South African dances. Some students will remember Lesole from his working with them on drumming and dance for last year's SMART project.

Grades 3-5

This karate program for older students teaches proper form, style, technique, and discipline which inspire higher levels of respect, motivation, and self-confidence. Various student levels can be accommodated. We will hold belt exams, which includes a certificate of completion and a belt. If your child is invited to take a belt exam, there is no additional fee. Math Club with Ms. Kushner & Ms. Roberts

Grades 3-5

Taught by Glebe's own Ms. Roberts (4th grade) and Ms. Kushner (5th grade), the new Glebe Math Club will play math games, complete web quests, and have lots of math challenges for students at all levels. No homework, just in-class math fun!

Gap Time Drama with Mr. H

Grades 3-5

Gap Time Drama presents “The Adventures of Dudeman".  Join Dudeman on this wild eco-adventure as he battles the Grungy Garbage Geeks to save his beloved town of Dudeville! This musical performance will help teach about the importance of conservation and recycling.

Glebe Glee Club

Grades K-5

The Glebe Glee Club offers an exciting opportunity for students to participate in a vocal ensemble. Throughout this 8 week enrichment program, your child will participate in motivating and exciting activities, learning proper vocal technique, basic music theory and rhythmic skills. At the end of the session, members of The Glebe Glee Club will perform a few pop songs perfect for young listeners and their families. We will explore artists such as Taylor Swift, One Direction, Maroon 5, One Republic and Kelly Clarkson. The Glebe Glee Club requires no musical or vocal experience, and no audition is necessary! All ages are welcome.
